Grants & Grant Resources

Organizations seeking to repair, improve, or survey a cemetery within Travis County, Texas may be eligible to receive a SAC grant. An organization may be a 501c3 non-profit, a private owner or an organized family cemetery group, or a public institution (city, county, etc.) SAC grants are for cemetery preservation, legal survey documentation, fencing, signage, repairs, construction, or other projects associated with cemetery public service projects within Travis County. Grants are for capital improvements only, not for general cleaning or maintenance.

Funding amounts range from $100 to $1,000 with a maximum of $1,000 per organization per twelve-month period. To stretch our limited funds further, preference will be given to projects that also provide their own monies and/or volunteer labor because this shows investment in the cemetery.

Two grant application deadlines occur annually, September 1st and February 1st. Applications may be submitted at any time and will be reviewed and considered for the next deadline. Please see the Grant Guidelines and Application.

For more details on SAC’s work since its founding in 2004, please see SAC Accomplishments.
